How to connect Lifechaser LC31 dash cam to smartphone via WiFi?

1. About Camera WIFI
A) The WIFI is only allowed for data transmission between mobile phone and camera, not for computer or home router. It works like Bluetooth of mobile phone that only for data transmission between mobile phone and device.
B) The WIFI connection range is about 10~15FT, like WIFI from home router. So in order for live stream videos or use WIFI feature, you have to keep it within the range. Otherwise, you will lose the WIFI signal and you won't be able to use WIFI feature. All the WIFI dash cam features work like this, including $300+ GoPro HERO Action Camera.
C) It doesn't work like some home intelligent devices (eg. Amazon Echo, Home Security Camera) that connected to the home router and you could see live view and remote control even though you are not at home. This WIFI feature is only meant to avoid the PC so you could view your videos on your mobile phone directly from your camera. It is not an IP camera and it is not designed to stream video over the cloud.
2.Download Mobile APP
Please search "Kacam" on Apple App Store or Google Play Store to download the mobile app.
3.Connect WIFI
(NOTE: WIFI is only for mobile phone connection, not for computer!)
A) Please install “Kacam” app on mobile phone before wifi connection.
B) Press “WIFI” button (on the top of camera) to turn on/off WIFI.
C) After turn on WIFI, you will see the WIFI SSID (name of wifi) and Password (password of wifi) on the display.
You can change WIFI name and password on app after successfully connected.
D) Go to phone setting and find the camera WIFI, connect it. If you can't connect, please turn off cellular data and try again.
E) After you successfully connect the dash cam WIFI, go to the "Kacam" app. Then you could check videos, photos and settings on mobile phone.
NOTE: Please do not go to the app before successfully connected wifi in phone setting.
F) After connected, if it happens like other users said "sometimes it connects and shows me what's on the dashcam and other times it says that the wifi is connected but not the camera", it is caused by mobile phone. Your mobile phone will automatically connect your frequently-used wifi. You need to manually disconnect the mobile phone from the frequently-used wifi and connect with dash cam wifi. Some mobile phone will automatically switch back to your frequently-used wifi because the dash cam wifi is not for Internet access.
NOTE:
Please select “Keep Trying Wi-Fi” if there is pop up notification.
Please keep connecting dash cam WIFI while using mobile app and prevent from automatically connecting frequently-used WIFI.
G) After connected, your phone will show “no Internet” or "Internet may not be available". This is normal. Because your phone is connecting with a device (camera) that can't access the Internet. The wifi connection is only for data transmission between mobile phone and dash cam, like Bluetooth. It isn’t like the wifi from router at home. If you have ever tried other wifi electronic equipment, like GoPro HERO Action Camera, your phone will also show "Internet may not be available" as well. So don’t worry about that.
H) The camera wifi will not always stay on. The camera wifi is only for data transmission between camera and mobile phone, not for the Internet. That means when your mobile phone connecting to the camera via wifi, your mobile phone can't connect to the Internet. You won't receive any notifications from Facebook, Whatsapp, etc. Because the camera wifi works like Bluetooth (only for data transmission), not like the wifi from home router (for the Internet).
For example, if the camera wifi keeps always on when you turn the camera on, your mobile phone will automatically connect to the camera wifi when you are in the car. Because if your mobile phone wifi is on as well, it will automatically connect frequently-used wifi. As a result, your mobile phone won't receive any notifications. But you can't feel it.
So, this is the reason why the camera wifi should not keep always on. You need to turn it on manually before you connect it to mobile phone. It works the same as the GoPro Hero Action Camera.
4. Check Video/Photo/Setting on APP
A) After successfully connected the dash cam WIFI, go to the "Kacam" app.
Click the camera and go to preview interface.
B) You can click the “Setting” button at the top right corner to check/change camera settings.
C) You can change camera settings - Resolution, G-Sensor, Parking Mode, Loop Recording, WiFi Name, Password, Firmware, etc.
D) After enter the “File”, you can check photo, video and emergency video.
You can click the “Select” button at the top right corner and select the videos you want to download or delete.
E) After download, you can go back to the “Local Video” to check videos/photos even though you don’t connect with the camera WIFI. After download, videos will be stored in your mobile phone memory.
NOTE: Only after video downloaded, resolution will be 4K displayed. If you view video before downloaded, it will not be 4K and not smooth while playing. Because the app (the embedded video player) doesn’t support 4K resolution playback before download.
You can see GPS route while playing video.
But please disconnect the camera wifi before checking GPS route. Because while connecting with camera wifi, mobile phone can’t access Internet and the map data can’t be loaded. So, please disconnect the camera wifi and let mobile phone load map data via celluar data.
